The American Advertising Federation (AAF) Indianapolis will host speaker Amilya Antonetti, founder of Soapworks and co-founder of Lucky Napkin, as part of its national speaker series on Friday, Jan. 29 at Woodstock Country Club. Antonetti will provide an inside look at the beliefs and practices of an entrepreneur, and will teach members how to build a “golden rolodex.”
“The presentation is designed to help others understand what it takes to launch great ideas. I will share my entrepreneurial journey and my passion for helping others find their dreams and turn them into realities. My goal is to teach others how to grow their ideas in the marketplace,” said Antonetti.
Antonetti launched the popular natural soap line, Soapworks, 15 years ago after realizing her newborn son’s reoccurring ailments were a result of toxic ingredients in common household cleaning products. Soapworks was sold in 2002 and Antonetti has gone on to found three other successful companies.
Because of the product line, Antonetti is now the best-selling author of Why David Hated Tuesdays, a guide to keeping families toxin-free. Antonetti’s story has since appeared in “Chicken Soup for the Entrepreneurial Soul,” People and Working Mother, as well as many other publications. She has also appeared on programs such as Oprah, CBS This Morning and Extra, and has addressed the same audiences as Katie Couric and Hillary Clinton.
Following her Soapworks success, Antonetti co-founded the Lucky Napkin Company, which helps entrepreneurs take their ideas from “mind to market.” The organization provides entrepreneurs with the education and information needed to launch their ideas successfully.
“The AAF speaker series strives to bring professionals to Indianapolis from around the country to educate our membership on issues related to the advertising community,” said Tom Hirons, AAF president and president and CEO of Hirons & Company. “Antonetti is a perfect example of someone who created a vision, believed in it and marketed it to corporations throughout the country. We are lucky that she will be here to share her expertise with professionals throughout Indianapolis.”
The presentation from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. includes a lunch buffet and is $20 for members and their guests and $35 for non-members. RSVPs can be submitted to Jennifer Blotkamp, AAF membership director, at jennifer.blotkamp@malonead.com.
