They will discuss their companies’ sustainability practices and provide case studies that show savings for clients and the environment.

Speakers and Topics include:
Dave Sullivan, Sappi Paper
With 28 years in the graphic arts business including print sales, merchant sales, and mill sales, Dave’s current responsibilities include managing the execution of Sappi’s marketing, sales, and distribution efforts in a four state area including Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Northern Illinois.
Topics: Environment and Sustainability: a discussion on the significance and differences of the different certifications such as: FSC, SFI, PEFC, ECF, PCW, ISO, ESD, CSR, Green-e and wind power will include information on how they apply and are being implemented into current sustainability and environmental efforts in graphic arts manufacturing.
The presentation also includes insights into the importance of chain-of-custody, the new “triple” bottom line, and the reality of the post-consumer waste pyramid as they relate to paper manufacturing and the printing industry.
The third part of this discussion focuses on what content creators, designers, printers, and end users can do to drive change and be more “green” as well as examples of sustainability in activities that Sappi is involved in doing to drive our triple bottom line.
Brian Krampe, Domtar Paper
Brian Krampe is responsible for providing education on paper myths vs. facts and sustainablity in the printing industry.
Topics: Domtar Eco-focus: Domtar Paper’s approach to sustainability and a discussion of Environmental Certification Programs and Policies. Each of the participants will receive the Eco-focus brochure outlined in the presentation. There are also a number of Position Papers and Paper Myths vs. Facts that are contained in the Eco-focus brochure.
Donna Lepine, Xerox Corporation
Donna Lepine is a Business Development Consultant for the Central Operational Region of Xerox Corporation. She is responsible for supporting the delivery of digital business development services with emphasis on plan execution and business growth results. These services include development of digital marketing plans, sales management plans and processes, and consultative sales training for digital sales.
Topics: Digital Printing’s carbon footprint and how it effects the environment, new applications that provide positive Return On Investment of marketing dollars.
Randy Linville, Neenah Paper
Cincinnati native Randy Linville has a degree in Paper Science and Engineering from Miami University. He spent 14 years working as an engineer in paper mills before becoming an account manager for Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia for Neenah Paper in 2007.
Topics: Deinking paper that has been recycled and turning it into post-consumer waste. How to spot a “greenwashed” product. Environmental issues our industry faces as well as insights into how Neenah handles these issues. Randy will bring copies of environmental brochures and printed examples of Neenah products.
Jim Bishop, Sun Chemical/Kohl & Madden
Jim Bishop is the sheetfed product manager for Sun Chemical/Kohl & Madden based in Chicago. He joined Sun Chemical in 1984 and began his career at the Research & Development Center as an ink chemist and was later promoted to Long Range Product Development Chemist. Jim has held various other technical and management positions within Sun Chemical including National Account Manager, Marketing Manager and UV Product Manager. Jim’s formal education as a chemical and petroleum refining engineer comes from Colorado School of Mines.
Topics: Green Boundaries in the Printing Industry. Inks and Coatings: how they have changed over the years to preserve the environment. Samples of soy based and vegetable based inks & coatings will be provided to guests.
